In choosing our Expert Searchers, we look for the following combination of experience and skills:

A Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related subject areas, with a number of years experience in patent searching. Some searchers additionally hold an MLS Masters degree in Library Science, or are qualified Patent Agents or Examiners
In-depth understanding of worldwide patents and patent information, in many cases also possessing multilingual capabilities
Detailed knowledge of manual searching methods and/or scientific and technical databases, particularly those with specialist indexing such as Derwent World Patents Index, Chemical Abstracts/Registry, IFI Claims, DGene, as well as full text and non-patent literature databases,etc.
Ease of working with online systems, such as STN, Dialog, Questel-Orbit, etc., utilizing the full range of search commands and capabilities
Very customer friendly and prepared to adapt search approaches to individual client requirements
High level of concentration and attention to detail in order to produce consistently accurate and high quality work
Innovative and resourceful, with enthusiasm for searching
Organized work manner, especially with respect to schedules, keeping each project on track with respect to client deadlines and budget
